Somerset Voices
March 16 - April 13
The railway will be hosting the Somerset
voices touring exhibition. Come and hear
the unique archive of over 500 recordings
of the 20th century Somerset life.

Spring into Steam

Our first Steam Gala weekend of the year
features lots of engines, freight trains as well
as our normal passenger services. A busy
day with lots going on for everyone, whether
family, photographer, or enthusiast!

Come and find out what Somerset is best
known for together with a ride on a steam
train – the perfect combination! Meet local
suppliers, taste their produce and take
some home for later.

Come and join Thomas the Tank Engine and friends for a weekend of fun.
Quarry Weekend
June 21 - 22
Discover how the Mendip quarry and
railway have been linked over the last
150 years. Go behind the scenes of the
quarry with guided tours, vintage
bus rides and more.

Come and join Thomas the Tank Engine and friends for a weekend of fun.
1940s Weekend
August 23 – 25
Travel back in time to 1940s Britain. See
the vintage vehicle rally with examples of
civilian, military and agricultural vehicles
of the time. Enjoy music from the period
and browse the craft tents for locally made
gifts and produce.
Mendip Steam Dream
September 6 - 7
The second of our Gala weekends with an
intensive timetable of engines and freight
trains. More trains to see and ride on!
150th Anniversary Weekend
November 9
The clocks are turned back 150 years as
we recreate the opening of the line on
this day in 1858. See the arrival of the
“first” train decorated with flowers and
welcomed by marching band just as it
was then. A real day to remember.
Footplate Experience Days
June 21, 27 & 30.
BR 9F no.92203 "Black Prince" returns and will be
available for unique footplate experiences
on three days only (NOTE: Ordinary flootplate courses operate throughout the year).
Wine & Dine
Relax and enjoy a traditional lunch or evening meal as you steam through the rolling Mendip countryside in the first class dining carriages of the Mendip Belle. Advanced booking essential.
Sunday Lunch
Why not let us take care of your Sunday lunch? The train departs at 12.30 with the meal served at your reserved table during your journey. Price £22.50.
