Teddy Bear's Picnic June 2 - 4th

The Teddy Bear?s Picnic in 2011 proved to be a great success so building on from last year we have put together a bumper event for the Jubilee weekend. This year we have a visiting bear to help our very own Station Master ?Mr Bear? greet you. It is ?Billy the Bear? from the Somerset Journal?s ?Billy the Bear? Birthday Club. They will have ?royal? attire to get you in the spirit of the Jubilee. As it?s a Teddy Bear?s picnic, come and join us on the lawn with your picnic, we have picnic mats and tables near the patio and play area, or try our restaurant. Children come in free if they bring their TEDDY, there will be a teddy bear trail for the children, and prizes to win. The adult competition will be drawn daily at 2pm where if you win you get to ride on the footplate on the last return journey of the day. Driver for a Fiver will be operating this weekend, and yes you can drive a light engine for ?5. Children over the age of 6 (accompanied) to whatever your age, can climb onto the footplate for this experience. The miniature railway will be steaming alongside our main engine for the weekend so come and try the little and large engines together. Visit our working engine shed to see how we restore our rolling stock, and climb the steps to the signal box and try your hand at being a signalman.
