We are situated in the village of Cranmore, near Shepton Mallet in Somerset. The railway has steam train rides, engine shed walk through, small museum, signal box and miniature railway (signal box and miniature railway only open on specific days), shop and cafe. PLEASE NOTE THE CAFE WILL BE CLOSED FROM 11:45 AM TO 1 PM WHENEVER OUR MENDIP BELLE SUNDAY LUNCH SERVICE IS RUNNING.

You should allow at least 2 - 3 hours to have a train ride and visit the other parts of the site. You can also enjoy our restaurant and shop selling a range of books, DVDs, toys & souvenirs. Staff are always available to assist in any way. If you have any queries or require any assistance

We have a large carpark that can accommodate several coaches
We have a grass picnic area that customers are welcome to use, one next to the childrens play area, one by the car park and there are some additional picnic table by the miniature railway

Due to the age of our heritage carriages we have adapted a special carriage for mobility impaired visitors via ramp access with seating areas for carers. For more information on Disabled Access please Click Here
Dogs & Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are allowed to accompany their owner in all areas of the site including the restaurant and dining carriages, please state that an assistance dog will be present when booking for one of our dining trains
The East Somerset Railway recognises that dogs are an important part of family life for many people and that they do not wish their pet to miss out on a day out. We ask that dogs do not travel on seats and are kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are not allowed in our restaurant or in dining carriages.
Water bowls for dogs are available at the bottom of the main entrance steps and on the platform.
