Credit: J.Cobb, 24/10/2004 Steam Engines are not the only items that need maintenance and restoration - the Carriages do as many miles on the railway and are the vehicles the customers see closest ! Maintaining the railways carriages ranges from simple work such as basic cleaning, all the way upto to repainting. The project for 2004 & 2005 was the overhaul the Wine & Dine set which was looking tired and repaint in Great Western Chocolate & Cream livery. Wagon projectsWagons also need to be maintained but tend to be the poor cousins to carriages and locomotives because they are not used every day. Nevertheless, a small wagon fleet is vital for the maintenance of the railway and a wider range of wagons add more character to special events and photographic charters.
