We run regular 'Driver-for-a-Fiver' events where you can drive an engine up and down a siding for the princely sum of £5. These events are run on the following days -
- Friday 21st March to Monday 24th March for the Easter Weekend
- Saturday 5th April and Sunday 6th April for the Spring into Steam Gala
- Saturday 3rd May to Monday 5th May for Thomas the Tank Engine
- Saturday 24th May to Monday 26th May for the Whitsun weekend
- Sunday 15th June for the Fathers Day Mendip Belle Wine & Dine train
- Saturday 16th August & Sunday 17th August for Thomas the Tank Engine
- Saturday 23rd August to Monday 25th August for The 1940s Weekend
- Saturday 6th September & Sunday 7th September for the Mendip Steam Dream gala
Note that these dates are subject to availability of engines & crew. If you are visiting specially to go on these trains, it is worth ringing ahead of time to confirm the trains are definitely running. Driver-for-a-Fiver also usually runs on days when Railtours are visiting.
