We run regular 'Driver-for-a-Fiver' events where you can drive an engine up and down a siding for the princely sum of £5. These events are run on the following days -

Friday 21st March to Monday 24th March for the Easter Weekend
Saturday 5th April and Sunday 6th April for the Spring into Steam Gala
Saturday 3rd May to Monday 5th May for Thomas the Tank Engine
Saturday 24th May to Monday 26th May for the Whitsun weekend
Sunday 15th June for the Fathers Day Mendip Belle Wine & Dine train
Saturday 16th August & Sunday 17th August for Thomas the Tank Engine
Saturday 23rd August to Monday 25th August for The 1940s Weekend
Saturday 6th September & Sunday 7th September for the Mendip Steam Dream gala

Note that these dates are subject to availability of engines & crew. If you are visiting specially to go on these trains, it is worth ringing ahead of time to confirm the trains are definitely running. Driver-for-a-Fiver also usually runs on days when Railtours are visiting.
