Enjoy a relaxed, unhurried and civilised journey on a steam train here at the East Somerset Railway. The majestic steam engine has been around for over 200 years. Seeing the trains in all their glory brings a real sense of history to your visit and there is always plenty to see, its an experience for everyone.

The East Somerset Railway operates steam trains throughout the year, view our Timetable for dates and times where your all day ticket lets you ride more than once.

We have Days out with Thomas as well as other Special events including our popular Santa Trains.

Why not enjoy a three course meal on our Mendip Belle dining train, or afternoon Cream Tea in the summer. The Whistlestop restaurant is open when we are in steam with home cooked food made from local produce.

You can also learn to drive a steam engine on one of our Footplate Experience courses.

Our fully stocked Shop is open most days of the week for railway items and much much more.
