Lastly you will be presented with a signed certificate and a engraved glass tankard to remember your day
Please Note Driving a steam loco is physically demanding
and can be hard work. You will need to be
at least 16 years of age and in good health
and reasonably fit since you will be climbing
up onto and down from the footplate
quite a few times during the day, as well
as shovelling coal and operating
heavy controls.
We offer two one day courses, both of which give you the chance to experience the thrills of driving and firing a steam locomotive, under the guidance of our skilled and dedicated footplate crews.
